On Saturday, March 21 Doug and I headed down to Louisville, Ky for the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) 2009 . The Kentucky Expo Center was filled to overflowing with shining chrome, bright lights and experimental truck innovations. The picture here is of Daimler's Innovation Truck, which is full of Green innovations and reminded us both of the kind of truck Batman would use for long hauls.

The best news is that small and medium manufacturers are alive and well here in the Heartland of the country.
It would seem that our message of getting back to basics and away from jargon resonated with many manufacturers. We were pleased to get a great reception from many of the folks we talked with and look forward to the long list of follow-ups we came home with. Thanks to all of you for great conversations, and interesting ideas. Knowing how important it is for manufacturing in general to survive, we are more inspired than ever to release as many of our basic tools as possible for free to allow manufacturers to try to tackle some of their problems on their own. Keep watching the digital library at the Zone Manufacturing web site as we prepare more of these for free download.
